InterActive8 in New York City was
awarded the online account for DeBeers by J. Walter Thompson, according to
Bill Markel, InterActive8 vice president and managing director.
The DeBeers Web site, adiamondisforever.com, will be
maintained and hosted by InterActive8 beginning this month. Billings were not
disclosed.
“I believe we proved to J. Walter Thompson that combining compelling content
with leading edge technology is the best way to take the DeBeers site to the
next level,” said Markel.
He said future site enhancements will include an interactive “Design Your Own
Ring” section featuring an application to enable users to create ring designs
over the Web.
“These enhancements will give consumers an online tool that will allow them
to begin this meaningful purchase with confidence,” said Doug Rice,
InterActive8 partner and executive creative director. “Users will have the
ability to create, step-by-step, a brilliant visual representation of their
own ring, online in real-time.”
