Chantilly, VA-based-DIDAX Inc., creator of the crosswalk.com Christian Web community,
signed an agreement with JAM Productions Ltd. to provide event promotions,
marketing initiatives and online ticketing services.
JAM will be marketing dates from such well-known artists as Amy Grant, Michael
W. Smith, and the Newsboys via the crosswalk.com Web site, in exchange for
sponsorship funding and participation in ticketing revenues. Financial
specifics were not disclosed.
The online ticketing agreement creates an incremental revenue stream for
crosswalk.com and provides site visitors and members with a complete Christian
music experience that includes streaming and on-demand audio, editorial
coverage of artists and events, online sampling and purchasing of CDs and
videos, a database of Christian concert schedules and information, and now,
direct access to ticketing.
“This deal really closes the loop for people who love Christian music,”
said William Parker, CEO and president of DIDAX. “With the hundreds of
Christian events and the premier artists that JAM promotes, you can now hear
the music, buy the music, and link to ticketing for live events directly from
the crosswalk.com site.”
Crosswalk.com is currently in the midst of a separate sponsorship agreement
with JAM to promote the Web site at over 300 live Christian music concerts and
festivals through December 1999.
“Christians–and especially Christian music lovers–are one of the largest
affinity groups on the Internet,” said Michael Scanland, president of JAM
Productions Ltd. “Online sales and entertainment are key to our future
with this audience, and we believe that crosswalk.com is the No. 1 site on the
Web for reaching them.”
