U S WEST Dex Internet Yellow Pages said it
recently reached agreement with 19 additional newspapers to serve as the
Internet Yellow Pages for their online versions.

Dex is the multimedia advertising arm of U S WEST Inc. More than simply
links, the agreements involve reciprocal integration of the U S WEST Dex
brand and content with that of each of the newspapers.

The alliances are with the Star Tribune (Minneapolis and St. Paul), the Salt
Lake Tribune
and the Deseret News (Salt Lake City), The Forum (Fargo, ND),
The Chronicle (Centralia, WA) and Duluth, MN-based Murphy McGinnis Media,
which publishes 14 newspapers. Last year, Dex formed alliances with the
Albuquerque Journal, The Arizona Republic and The Denver Post.

At the Dex site, integration with the newspapers means that when a user
performs a search of any kind involving a newspaper’s area, the appropriate
newspaper’s logo and connections to specific sections of the newspaper are
made available to users.

At the newspapers’ sites, integration with U S WEST Dex’s site means that no
matter where users are, they can conduct a Yellow Pages search, via a
co-branded search page, to get business listings information, or connect
directly to uswestdex.com to utilize additional site features.
