Advertising network Real Media Inc.
this week added another branch to its South American operation, opening a
new office in Brazil.
The new office in Sao Paulo, will be headed up by Evandro Audi, who was
most recently ad sales manager for Veja/Abril.
The New York Times on the Web has
signed on to be one of the first clients serviced by the new operation.
Real Media will represent the publishing company in Brazil and Mexico. In
addition to the Web site, Real Media will sell ads on the company’s opt-in
e-mail to subscribers.
“We are pleased to be working with Real Media in the Latin American market
to support our goal of providing deep relationships with our site members
and advertisers around the world,” said Christine Cook, vice president of
national sales for New York Times Digital.
Real Media now represents 50 online brands in Latin America, including O Globo, Clarin, Reforma, Bloomberg.com, El Mercurio, and El Universal.
Real Media filed for its initial public offering in February and, like many
other Internet companies, has not yet gotten its offering out in tumultuous
market conditions.
