Online community operation Talk City Inc. rolled out a special “Back
to School” area and signed advertisers for it that include Gap Online,
bookstore efollet.com and SmartKids.com, among others.

On the micro site, called “Talk City Back to
School,”
students can find information relating to school including
back-to-school fashion tips from The Gap, school supply lists and a s chat
series geared around back-to-school.

“In our targeted Back to School neighborhood, we create a tremendous
environment for students to get back into the swing of school, and a powerful
way for advertisers to connect with students during this key buying period in
a medium that students
prefer,” said Patricia Griffith, vice president of sales for Talk City.

Gap Online’s sponsorship is expected to
include live events, integrated banners, polling and research programs. Efollet.com and Smartkids.com also include sponsorship
and inclusion in events and content. Spending was not disclosed.
