USA.NET, a provider of e-mail and advanced
messaging services, has been selected to provide its classified advertising
e-mail service, USA.NET Ad Mail, to advertisers and readers of the Fort Worth
Star-Telegram
.

The Ad Mail service will enable the Star-Telegram to offer its advertisers a
temporary e-mail address that can be placed within each classified
advertisement, giving them an interactive method for receiving responses.
Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

“USA.NET Ad Mail represents the next generation of interactive, Web-based
classified advertising,” said John Gerdelman, president and CEO of the
company. “Ad Mail gives the Fort Worth Star-Telegram a vehicle for increasing
classified advertising revenue and response rates without incurring
additional administrative costs.”

The Star-Telegram will offer the service to all private-party and commercial
advertisers. The option will be marketed to advertisers as a premium service under the
brand name of
“starclassifieds.net” (e.g. advertiser@starclassifieds.net). The temporary
e-mail addresses will appear in both print and online versions of the
newspaper.

Advertisers will access their e-mail responses through the paper’s Web site via a secure
login name and password.
