San Francisco-based WorldPages/WebYP Inc., an Internet white and yellow pages directory provider, formed an alliance with investment site
StockMaster.
The deal will integrate financial business listings on the StockMaster site
and financial information on WorldPages. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The WorldPages directory content and search technology will enable StockMaster
users to find neighborhood investment resources, such as lending providers,
real estate companies, and insurance agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
In addition, StockMaster will be the exclusive provider of stock quotes and
charts on the WorldPages site, and StockMaster will be promoted as an Internet
resource in WorldPages affiliate phone books distributed to 35 million people
annually.
“Most information on financial sites is pointers to other Internet pages,”
said Barney Pell, vice president of business development for StockMaster.
“However, a large part of our customers’ financial lives revolves around
businesses in their neighborhoods, such as banks, real estate agents,
insurance companies, and investment advisors. StockMaster’s new ‘neighborhood
financial resources’ section, provided by WorldPages, complements our. . . market
content making StockMaster a one-stop shop for both online and off-line
financial needs.”
WorldPages offers access to 112 million U.S. and Canadian white and yellow
pages listings which includes maps, 800 numbers, nine million e-mail
addresses, 30 million URLs and links to more than 200 directories worldwide.
