Adobe Systems is making good use of its security bulletin website these days, pushing out advisories and new updates several times a month.
As eSecurity Planet reports, this time Adobe is moving up the release of an important Acrobat and Reader update by a week to get the fix to consumers and enterprise customers before any more damage is done.
An indication that Adobe officials are particularly concerned about this latest hole is the fact that the company is pushing out this fix on Oct. 5, just one week before it originally planned to release its regularly scheduled quarterly security updates.
The patch will shore up versions of Adobe Reader 9.3.4 for Windows, Mac and UNIX, Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 for Windows and Mac as well as Reader 8.2.4 and Acrobat 8.2.4 for Windows and Mac.
Another week, another security update from Adobe Systems.
This time around, Adobe (NASDAQ: ADBE) is promising customers a fix next week for a zero-day vulnerability in its popular Reader and Acrobat applications that it first acknowledged of on Sept. 8.
Just last week, Adobe raced out a patch for what it called a “critical” hole in its Flash Player software.
