Dell this week unveiled Dell Data Protection Encryption, an application designed to improve data security at the file level and help IT departments better track and audit the security of their organizations’ laptops, desktops and mobile devices.

As eSecurity Planet reports, state and federal government agencies are requiring companies of all sizes to improve their data security technology and procedures to protect customers’ information.

Company officials said the application can be easily deployed and integrated into any IT environment, including non-Dell systems and devices, and provides full support for existing authentication and patching processes.

Dell today unveiled new endpoint encryption software that will secure data at the file level on laptops, desktops and tablet PCs to help businesses limit accidental and deliberate data breaches and meet increasingly demanding government data security regulations.

Dell Data Protection Encryption offers auditing and compliance management features for federal and state regulations including HIPAA and the Payment Card Industry’s Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), making it easier for IT administrators to track and monitor security threats to all these disparate endpoint devices.
