IBM Snares Compliance Vendor OpenPages

It’s a been a busy couple of months on the acquisition front as tech companies jockey to fill out their product portfolios to better compete against one another and develop a deeper range of products and services they can pitch to the enterprise.

HP was the biggest shopper, spending billions to acquire enterprise storage firm 3PAR, and security companies ArcSight and Fortify.

Wednesday, as eCRM Guide reports, IBM stepped up to the plate to buy compliance and risk management software provider, OpenPages.



IBM announced it will acquire OpenPages, a privately held developer of enterprise compliance and risk management software, adding yet another piece to its growing security software arsenal.


Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

OpenPages, based in Waltham, Mass., makes software that makes it easier for companies to identify and manage risk and compliance issues throughout their various data networks.
