Auction Watchers Develops New Spec Search Technology

Mar 5, 1999

Santa Clara, CA-based Auction Watchers, a resource for
online auction tracking, has developed a new spec search technology enabling
greater access to detailed information on computer hardware and software.

The SpecWatcher service allows online shoppers to specify details on computer
equipment up for bid across multiple online auction houses.

Through Auction Watchers’ auction listing technology, consumers can review all
the relevant auction data including bid times, bid prices, item numbers and
descriptions, shipping costs and the status of each item in categorized
tables. The site provides Internet users with the convenience of looking for
bargains across multiple auction houses, from one central location.

SpecWatcher allows individuals to pick a certain product category, such as
desktops, and provides them the ability to choose key specifications including
the manufacturer, processor type, processor speed, memory, hard drive size and
other specifications.

All the data listed on Auction Watchers is updated in real time to ensure the
accuracy of information listed. The information is categorized by items, and
listed by closing times. Auction Watchers said it remains committed to
objectivity by maintaining its independence from any auction house.

Auction Watchers currently supports Auction World, DealDeal, Egghead Auction,
1st Class Auction, Onsale and uBid.
