Irvine, CA-based Internet car-buying service Autobytel.com Inc. promoted Tim Walker to
director, Pre-Owned CyberStore and DRT (Dealer Real Time), Autobytel.com’s
proprietary accredited dealer extranet.

The move is intended to eliminate some of the inherent inefficiencies found in
the pre-owned car sales process, the company said. Walker will focus on
increasing the representation of Autobytel.com’s Pre-Owned CyberStore and
initiating enhancements to the DRT system.

“Pre-owned vehicles are typically touched by three parties before
being retailed–ranging from wholesalers to auctions and dealers,” Walker
said. “Autobytel.com is uniquely positioned to reduce costs in this value
chain and
cause the pre-owned distribution model to evolve dramatically. This will
result in better prices for consumers and more profit opportunities for
dealers–it’s a win-win situation.”

Walker was promoted from the position of director, Market Representation,
where, he redefined and implemented a market representation model for the
Autobytel.com Accredited Dealer Network.

The Autobytel.com Pre-Owned CyberStore houses thousands of pre-owned vehicles,
all of which include a digital image and come with a 72-hour money-back
guarantee and a 90-day warranty.

Autobytel.com’s DRT system enables Autobytel.com Accredited Dealers to receive
purchase requests in real time via a dedicated extranet. The system includes a
full contact management function, reporting capabilities and access to Pre-
Owned CyberStore inventory.
