barnesandnoble.com today launched a new business-to-business e-commerce program, entitled Business Solutions, designed to make corporate book and periodical purchasing convenient, controlled, and cost-effective.

Business Solutions is a program that allows clients to use their Intranet to find and purchase specific business titles from barnesandnoble.com. According to barnesandnoble.com, through the Business Solutions Web site clients have access to a database of over 1.5 million titles.

Users can order individual books or create a virtual library or reference area on their Intranet in specific categories that fit the needs of their firm.

“We stock more business and computer books than anyone,” said Steve Riggio, vice chairman, Barnes & Noble, Inc. “The barnesandnoble.com Business Solutions program provides immediate online access to our expertise, enormous inventory, and rapid order fulfillment capabilities.”
