Sight & Sound Software, developer of the BookSmart online travel booking engine,
said that Wal-Mart has selected BookSmart to power
its new online travel agency.

BookSmart reduces the need for customized software, allowing for a unique
user interface and leveraging an open architecture that easily integrates
with other legacy systems and applications, the company said.

Financial
details were not disclosed.

Other companies contributing to Wal-Mart.com’s e-commerce travel site
include BroadVision, Cambridge Technology Partners, eCS4, Quantum Leap and
Hewlett-Packard.

BookSmart is a travel booking engine that interfaces mainframe computer
reservation systems to a variety of client programs, including Web servers
and wireless devices.

BookSmart is licensed to customers and can be run in
their own data centers or outsourced to application service providers.
