CNN/SI Interactive in Partnerships to Create Sports Games

CNN/SI Interactive said it formed three partnerships to create electronic sports games offerings for the computer game market.

The latest developments offer users news and reviews, a place to play online
mu1ti-player games and a software store where users can purchase CD-ROM games.

CNNSI.com and Online Gaming Review (OGR) are creating The Playing Field, a site
offering sports gameplayers the latest information on new and upcoming games,
including previews, reviews, strategies, etc.

With electronic software distribution firm TestDrive Corp., the company recently
launched the CNN/SI Sports Software Store, a store
in which users can test interactive sports games and screen savers and
purchase them through a secure online commerce system.

And, CNNSI.com and mplayer.com partnered to create the
CNN/SI Sports Channel on mplayer.com, a sports game community where users can
access popular online multi-player games and premier online events such as the
upcoming CNN/SI Links Challenge, an online golf tournament.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.

“There is a very strong correlation between sports gameplayers, PC usage and
the attraction to sports Web sites,” said Steve Zales, CNN/SI Interactive
general manager. “We intend to meet the many interests of this audience by
providing news, reviews, games and opportunities to purchase, in addition to
the comprehensive sports coverage at CNNSI.com.”

CNNSI.com is Time Warner’s sports Web site featuring up-to-the minute scores,
news, statistics and analysis of domestic and international sports, as well as
free fantasy sports, live video-streaming and a local sports section for more
than 150 cities.
