Commerce One Inc., a provider of business-to-business electronic procurement and content management solutions, said it now has available “the largest commercially-available pre-packaged catalog content from over 5,000 suppliers, distributors and manufacturers.”
This content–more than 5 million items–contains products from leading
vendors in the MRO content, IT capital equipment and supplies, office
supplies, health care and telecommunications industries.
Vendors include Office Depot, NECX, Hutton Communications, Trade Service
Corp., Praxair, Allegance, 3M, Black & Decker, Graybar, Philips Lamps and
Eveready Battery. As a result, enterprise procurement organizations can now
automate the procurement of more than 90% of their indirect goods and
services, the company said.
The pre-packaged catalogs of indirect goods and services can be leveraged by
enterprise procurement organizations through the use of Commerce One BuySite
Electronic Procurement Application and Commerce One Electronic Commerce
Network (ECN), a real-time trading community that links buying organizations
to their suppliers.
Commerce One also said it has formed a strategic relationship with Trade
Service Corp., in which Trade Service will provide Commerce One with content
on millions of MRO products and provide assistance with the content collection and enrichment process.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
