Databyte Corp., a provider of Internet
application server solutions, and Unify Corp. a provider of enterprise
application software, launched an e-business product suite called Flexx e-
Commerce.

Built on the Unify VISION platform, Flexx e-Commerce, combined with Databyte’s
Flexx suite of products, enables corporations to deliver intuitive, user-
friendly Web-based applications for a broad range of e-commerce activities,
the companies said.

“Unify VISION is an ideal environment for the development of e-commerce
solutions,” said Reza Mikailli, Unify president and CEO. “We are very pleased
that our partners are delivering complementary solutions to further strengthen
our product offerings.”

Flexx is an integrated set of applications, developed entirely with Unify
VISION, addressing all the functional areas of a business. Flexx’s new module,
Flexx e-Commerce, will integrate into the existing Flexx system to take
advantage of inventory tracking, customer care and order processing systems.
Flexx will also add full online ordering, status checking, and product
searching.

Unify VISION AppServer is an open, standards-based Internet application server
that enables IT organizations to bridge legacy, custom-built and packaged
applications with the Internet. VISION AppBuilder, is an object oriented,
repository-based component framework that enables developers to create
application components.

“Databyte sees e-business as much more than making Web-based commercial
transactions,” said Eric Kehler, president of Databyte. “We are pleased that
our partnership with Unify VISION enables us to deliver e-business components
that allow our customers to meet a variety of business goals more effectively
and efficiently over the Internet.”

Flexx e-Commerce supports Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT and most Unix server
platforms. Pricing was not disclosed.
