DynamicWeb Enterprises Inc., a provider of Internet and electronic data interchange (EDI) related outsourcing services for e-commerce, signed a licensing deal with Sterling Commerce.
DynamicWeb in Fairfield, NJ has licensed Sterling Commerce’s GENTRAN:Server
for integration with its EDIxchange EC Managed Services and will use
GENTRAN:Server as the core EC engine in its Service Center.
Under the partnership, the two companies will work together to provide e-
commerce solutions to meet the needs of small- to medium-sized companies. Since DynamicWeb’s services are based on Sterling Commerce’s GENTRAN:Server, it will be easy for customers to transition and migrate to the complementary services and products offered by Sterling Commerce when appropriate, the companies said.
These services would include large-scale outsourcing solutions as well as the use of GENTRAN:Server directly by the end user. Financial details were not disclosed.
“A partnership between Sterling Commerce and DynamicWeb will allow small- to
medium-sized enterprises to fully maximize e-commerce for their own
businesses,” said Brad Sharp, president, Interchange Software Group and
executive vice president, Sterling Commerce.
“This partnership is a key step in solidifying DynamicWeb’s position in the e-commerce marketplace,” said Jim Conners, president and chief operating officer at DynamicWeb. “By using the GENTRAN software as our core EDI engine, we enhance the flexibility and scalability of our Internet services while
decreasing our cost of operation.”
