Irvine, CA-based E-Commerce Exchange (ECX), an Internet and
conventional payment service provider, announced a strategic alliance with Interland Inc. Web hosting service and SoftQuad Software Inc. to offer a total
solution for creating online shopping sites.

The one-stop shopping solution is called Easy E-Commerce Gameplan. Financial
arrangements among the companies were not disclosed.

“The Easy E-Commerce Gameplan provides entrepreneurs with a complete solution to create an online
shopping business,” said Jon Engleking, executive vice president of ECX.

The Gameplan is a three-step blueprint for e-commerce Web sites. The first
step is to create a Web site with SoftQuad Software’s HoTMetaL PRO 5.0 ,
which includes a built-in shopping cart module from the Resource Manager.

Next, users submit their Web sites to be hosted on Interland’s hosting
service. Once established, ECX will open a merchant account so that users can
accept credit cards. ECX also acts as the processing service for online
transactions.

ECX’s QuickCommerce, an Internet-based payment gateway, enables merchants to
instantly secure orders and payment through their sites. However, in order to
process credit cards, businesses must have a merchant account. ECX assumes
this responsibility and establishes merchant accounts for 99 percent of its
applicants within five to 10 business days.
