HomeShark Partners with Rent Net

San Francisco-based HomeShark Inc. an online real estate operation, entered a partnership with Rent Net that will give the latter’s users access to HomeShark’s discounted mortgages and home buying tools designed to help them make the transition from renter to owner.

HomeShark joins Century 21, ERA and Coldwell Banker in Rent Net’s Homebuyers
Center. Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.

Homebuyers Center users will have access to co-branded HomeShark tools to help
them decide whether to rent or buy, calculate how much home they can afford,
plan for their down payment, and prequalify for a mortgage.

“By joining our extensive rental guide and resources with HomeShark’s real
estate expertise, Rent Net continues to offer a complete online resource for
renters and homebuyers.” said Phil Marcus, Rent Net’s founder and president.

HomeShark’s partnership with Rent Net comes on the heels of its acquisition of
HomeScout, a real estate search engine on the Web.

HomeShark says it is the only online source for both discount mortgages and
property listings. Rent Net, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cendant Corp.,
represents properties and relocation services in more than 2,500 North
American cities.
