The Lightspan Partnership Inc., developer
of educational software and Web-based tools and services for classroom and
home learning, signed a partner deal with SmarterKids.com, an online children’s
educational store.

The deal will combine Lightspan’s content with SmarterKids.com’s educational
shopping experience.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

The new Lightspan Learning Store will offer the SmarterKids.com’s product mix
as the primary resource for educational products on Lightspan.com and
Lightspan PageOne, a free Internet service that allows teachers to create a
customized resource page for their classrooms.

“We are excited about teaming up with SmarterKids.com, which we think is one
of the best educational e-commerce sites,” said Winnie Wechsler, executive
vice president and general manager of Lightspan’s Internet and broadband
services.

The Lightspan Learning Store and SmarterKids.com will integrate product
recommendations generated by MySmarterKids, which enables parents to develop
individual learning profiles for their children.
