Wedding site The Knot signed premier
provider deals with Fortunoff, a New York area home furnishings and fine
jewelry retailer, and Linens ‘n Things Inc.
of home textiles, housewares and decorating accessories.
Financial arrangements were not disclosed. Fortunoff becomes the premier provider of
china, crystal and silver on The Knot Gift Registry; Linens ‘n Things will be the featured provider
of linens there.
Fortunoff will feature brands such as Lenox, Noritake, Royal Doulton,
Waterford, Wedgwood, Mikasa and Oneida. Linen manufacturers represented will
include Wamsutta, Fieldcrest/Cannon, Croscill, Martex, and Springs Industries.
Guests will also be able to purchase Fortunoff items off a Knot Registry in
any of its retail stores. In addition, Fortunoff will provide in-store and
off-line promotion for The Knot and will feature links to The Knot’s
etiquette advice and personalized wedding planning tools. Fortunoff will also
sell honeymoon trips and wedding supplies from The Knot both online and
in-store.
Visitors to the gift registry will also be able to purchase items at any of
the 244 Linens ‘n Things stores. Linens ‘n Things also will provide in-store
and off-line promotions and
its Web site will feature links to The Knot’s wedding planning tools, wedding
supplies and honeymoon trips.

audience of brides and grooms,” said David Fortunoff, president of

“We are confident that this relationship will greatly benefit consumers as
well as our businesses,” said Norman Axelrod, president and CEO of Linens ‘n
Things, a national chain that was founded in 1975.
Launched in November 1998, The Knot Gift Registry features more than 10,000
gift items. Founded in 1922, Fortunoff has five retail stores specializing in
home furnishings and fine jewelry in New York and New Jersey as well as a
national e-commerce Web site.
