CYBERplex Inc.
launched an online
bookstore called ChaptersGLOBE.com, in conjunction with
Canada’s largest bookseller, Chapters Inc., and the Toronto Globe and Mail.

The store has a focus on Canadian authors.

“ChaptersGLOBE.com represents what the shopping experience should be on the
Internet and it sets a new precedent for Canadian online retailing,” said Dean
Hopkins, president and CEO of CYBERplex, a Canadian Internet professional
services firm.

“They did it right, with the right resources, the right organizational
structure, and the right level of commitment,” said Hopkins. “This is
unique in our current
Internet marketplace.”

“As a Canadian company committed to the love of reading, our goal is to be as
accessible as possible to all communities across Canada,” said Larry
Stevenson, president and CEO of Chapters Inc. “Going online allows us to give
more Canadians access to books, and particularly books by Canadians, that
often can’t be found on other sites or in remote communities.”

ChapterGLOBE.com utilizes database technology that enables books to be
searched by title, author, or subject and offers links to related-information.

Chapters operates 326 bookstores under the names Chapters, Coles,
SmithBooks/LibrairieSmith, ClassicBookstores, The Book Company, and the
World’s Biggest Bookstore.
