Professo launched a modular e-commerce
platform offered for private-label resale, making any reseller — Web
developer, ISP, VAR, or large retailer — an “instant ASP.”
Professo said it also offers a management tool that automates customer
billing and service upgrades, as well as the reseller’s crafting of the
service offering.
Current service modules offered include: a) Internet access; b) domain
registration; c) Web hosting in shared, dedicated server, or co-located
environments; d) storefront software with global e-payment gateway, bundled
merchant account, and secure hosting; and e) promotional services including
Metatag editing, search engine submission, and search results analysis.
Tying this suite of applications and services together is SAM, Professo’s
proprietary, browser-based Services and Applications Manager. SAM enables
resellers to custom-configure, brand and publish online a suite of e-commerce
offerings; track clients’ online transactions and access site statistics and
automate billing and collect payments online.
SAM also allows outsourcing of account management, billing, customer service
and tech support to Professo — all presented to the end user under the
reseller’s label.
