, ABC NEWS/ESPN in E-Commerce Deal

ABC NEWS/ESPN Internet Ventures and Web marketer announced today the formation of an e-commerce partnership under which Roxy will sell digital products across six different ABC/ESPN Web sites.

Under the agreement, Roxy will market its “Digital Products for the Digital Age,” including DSS/DirecTV home satellite TV systems, Cambridge Soundworks home theaters, DVD equipment, TVs, and stereos, in co-branded shopping areas on the ABC NEWS/ESPN network of sites.

ESPN SportsZone,,, NASCAR Online, Mr. Showbiz, and Wall of Sound will feature co-branded areas supported by e-commerce, marketing, sales, and fulfillment services provided by Roxy.

The companies also said that Roxy will build permanent links from assorted pages on the ABC/ESPN sites, offering digital products and deals that are geared to specific user interests.

Roxy plans to promote features such as price comparisons, a
“virtual personal shopping assistant,” and digital coupon offers through its proprietary RoxyNET e-commerce software that was developed with partners IBM and Trifect Technologies.

Customer offers will also be highlighted in the ESPN SportsZone “Insider” electronic newsletter, and banner ads displaying Roxy offerings will appear across the six ABC/ESPN sites.
