Segasoft Networks Inc. is teaming up with
Affinity Internet Holdings Plc, through its new subsidiary, EGO Maniacs.net , to bring the gaming
community HEAT.NET to the United Kingdom and Europe.
The two companies signed an exclusive agreement to create Europe.HEAT.NET, a
free service that will launch later this summer in the U.K. with 22 games.
The service is scheduled to roll out across Switzerland, Holland, Germany,
France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Italy by early next year.
“HEAT.NET is growing at a fantastic rate and we’re ready for global
expansion,” said Greg Chiemingo, vice president and acting general manager of
HEAT.NET. “The demand from European gamers for their own version of HEAT has
been tremendous and we’re more than happy to deliver.”
After a 30-day trial period, high-speed game play will only be available
through the network’s exclusive dial-up connection provided by EGO
Maniacs.net’s sister company, Virtual Internet Provider Ltd. Players will
only pay for the cost of their local call.
HEAT.NET claims to be the largest online game playing facility in the U.S.
and Canada with over 500,000 users per month spending an average of 68
minutes per session.
