theglobe.com Signs $1.2 Million E-Commerce Deal

New York City-based community operation theglobe.com this week signed an exclusive $1.2
million partnership deal with Music HQ.com and DVD Flix.com Inc., an online
music and movie retailer.

The one-year agreement establishes Music HQ.com and DVD Flix.com as the exclusive retailer for
the music and movie categories at theglobe.com.

A merchandising and advertising program developed for Music HQ will include:

  • anchor tenant status in the music and movie category in shop.theglobe.com and
    within specially designated shopping sections in the Entertainment, Music,
    Movies and Television themed areas
  • direct e-mail marketing to globe members
  • sponsorship of 21 entertainment chats and nine seasonal promotions
  • four entertainment contests and sweepstakes

“By combining a virtual storefront on shop.theglobe.com with a comprehensive
merchandising program. . .MusicHQ.com and DVD Flix.com will be able to achieve a
measurable return on investment through incremental retail sales and enhanced
brand equity,” said Bryan Wiener, director of business development at theglobe.com.

Music HQ.com and DVD Flix.com will participate in a program offering
members of theglobe.com who place Music HQ and DVD Flix’s logo on their home
page the opportunity to earn commissions generated from sales.
