Auction site uBid Inc. signed a partnership deal with
electronic software delivery firm Digital River.

uBid said it will be the first online auction
site to provide downloadable software to its customers, allowing them the
opportunity to bid on and have immediate access to Digital River’s list of
software titles.

uBid’s popular business-to-consumer auction site
will offer Digital River’s downloadable software starting in early May.
Digital River will manage the digital delivery of the software purchased
through uBid’s auctions, while uBid manages the transaction process.
Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

“By offering downloadable software, we are providing our customers with the
latest in Internet technology and a great incentive to shop on our site —
immediate delivery of popular software products,” said Greg Jones, president
and chief executive officer of uBid.

uBid is an online auction house that offers consumers and small- to
medium-sized businesses excess, refurbished, close-out and limited-edition
merchandise through live-action bidding. The auctions feature a rotating
selection of brand-name computers, consumer electronics, jewelry, housewares
and sports/recreation products.
