West Group Signs With Open Market

Leading legal publisher the West Group announced today it signed an electronic commerce and distribution agreement with e-commerce software developer Open Market.

Under the agreement, West Group will publish content using Open Market’s Folio software, distribute Folio software to West Group customers, and employ Open Market’s Transact e-commerce software for its new Internet commerce service.

Open Market’s Transact will power the West Group’s new online store, and Folio software will used within the company’s product line to deliver an intuitive environment for professional content users.

“West Group selected the Open Market Transact software because of the maturity of the product–a refreshing find in the immature Internet commerce market,” said Laurie Hansen, director, Internet Commerce Technology for West Group. “Transact also offers a level of flexibility in pricing and discount options that was critical for our application.”

The westgroup.com site allows law firms and corporate legal departments to purchase legal information products 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
