XOOM.com in San Francisco, an Internet-based direct
marketing company, signed
an agreement under which BuyDirect.com will provide a co-branded online
software store for the XOOM network of sites.
As a result of the agreement, XOOM.com
members will be able to choose from BuyDirect.com’s selection of name-brand
software titles from publishers including Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec,
Broderbund, and Davidson. Within the site, customers can also utilize
information and popular software product reviews and ratings from CNET and
Ziff-Davis. Financial arrangements were
not disclosed.

BuyDirect.com. “Reaching XOOM.com’s network members is a tremendous
opportunity for BuyDirect.com to extend its brand to a large online customer
base.”

software products for consumers and small businesses. The company specializes
in software programs that can be delivered electronically over the Internet,
and also offers a complete selection of titles that can be shipped directly.
XOOM.com offers consumers free services over the Web, greeting cards, and
content such as full-length streaming movies and Web clips.
