Yahoo! Expands Global Commerce Offerings

Racing to beat the millenium-turning clock, powerhouse Yahoo! Wednesday rolled out its shopping services to include the UK & Ireland, France, Germany, Korea, Japan, and Australia & New Zealand.

Yahoo! Shopping provides consumers worldwide with a one-stop destination for their shopping needs. Through the shopping services on Yahoo! UK & Ireland, Yahoo! France, Yahoo! Germany, Yahoo! Japan, Yahoo! Korea and Yahoo! Australia & New Zealand, individuals are able to add items to a single shopping cart; make purchases in one easy check out; ship orders to multiple locations; and execute secure transactions at anytime from any Net-connected computer.

Also, online shoppers have expanded access to retailers. From Yahoo! Australia & New Zealand’s Folkways and Dymocks to Yahoo! Germany’s Brinkmann and Quelle to Yahoo! Japan’s Nojima and Askul, online shoppers can easily shop for and buy high-quality products to suit most any need.

“By expanding our commerce services across Yahoo!’s World properties, we continue to bring together one of the largest online global communities of active buyers and sellers,” said Jeff Mallett, president and chief operating officer at Yahoo! (YHOO).

“With commerce offerings such as one-stop shopping and online auctions, Yahoo! offers consumers around the world a choice of venues to find and buy whatever they are looking for and shop the way they want to shop.”

Yahoo! also announced that Cellmania.com, a wireless e-commerce site, has joined its premier merchant program.

In December, Yahoo! and Kmart teamed to offer free Net access via Kmart’s start-up e-commerce site Bluelight.com.
