Storage management software vendor BakBone Software and storage networking connectivity provider Crossroads Systems, Inc. today announced that BakBone’s NetVault(TM) backup and restore software has been certified by Crossroads for compatibility with all its routers.

According to the companies, BakBone’s NetVault enables enterprises to migrate from Network Attached Storage (NAS) platforms to larger Storage Area Networks (SANs) without upgrades or additional software, while Crossroads conXsan family of routers allows flexibility in the choice of storage networking technologies. The routers range from those designed for local to enterprise environments to WAN environments, and include at the highest-end a multifunction router.

“In the data storage field today, the name of the game is interoperability,” said Brian R. Smith, chairman and CEO of Crossroads Systems. “We are pleased to certify our conXsan series for use with such a cutting-edge solution as NetVault. As companies continue to expand and develop their storage needs, NetVault and Crossroads will be prime choices for managing the distribution and backup of their critical data.”
