Bioinformatics solutions provider Viaken Systems Inc. today announced that EMC Corporation has recognized Viaken as an EMC Proven(TM) E-Infostructure(TM) certified company. This announcement expands on Viaken’s existing relationship with EMC, enabling Viaken to provide life science organizations with fast, reliable, and scalable storage solutions.

The EMC E-Infostructure Proven Program, according to the companies, identifies Internet-based businesses that have invested in best practices for enterprise storage and information infrastructure, and signifies that a company has implemented an IT infrastructure able to support the operational needs of an Internet-based business or service.

“Storage is a critical component of our managed services strategy,” said Dr. Keith O. Elliston, president and CEO of Viaken. “With the vast amounts of data that biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies need to manage and analyze, storage is a mission-critical element of the bioinformatics solutions we deploy for our clients. Expanding our relationship with EMC by meeting the stringent criteria of their Proven program, provides our clients with the confidence that their valuable data is readily accessible within a secure environment.”
