EMC Sees SSD, Ethernet Dominating Storage

EMC is certainly a company that knows storage, and all different forms of it. Here are new technologies emerging and it’s the job of CTO Chuck Hollis to keep his eye on all of them. So why does he think solid-state drives and Ethernet are the future of storage? Enterprise Storage Forum will tell you.


EMC (NASDAQ: EMC) Vice President and Global Marketing CTO Chuck Hollis sees solid state drives (SSDs), cloud computing and Ethernet eventually taking over the enterprise storage networking market.

Those were just some of the comments Hollis made in a wide-ranging interview in advance of the release next week of the annual EMC-IDC “Digital Universe” study.
