Emulex Fibre Channel HBAs Qualified by EMC

Emulex Corp. this week announced that EMC Corp. selected its LightPulse LP9002L host bus adapter to provide Fibre Channel connectivity for EMC’s Symmetrix storage solutions running in Linux environments. With this qualification, Emulex’s LP9002L is now qualified by EMC for Symmetrix in Linux, Solaris, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and AIX operating environments.


“Emulex’s LP9002L HBA has been e-Lab Tested and qualified to run Linux with EMC’s Symmetrix storage systems,” said Chuck Hollis, vice president of Products and Markets at EMC. “With today’s announcement, EMC and Emulex build upon their ongoing commitment to provide customers with the ability to seamlessly integrate new technology as their IT infrastructure requirements evolve.


“Emulex host bus adapters are used to enable connectivity for a variety of EMC’s enterprise solutions, including Symmetrix, CLARiiON, Celerra and other EMC platforms, and we are pleased to further extend our longstanding relationship to include Linux support,” said Kirk Roller, chief operating officer at Emulex. “We will continue working closely with EMC to develop and deploy high performance Fibre Channel storage networking solutions for a variety of operating system environments.”
