FalconStor Software, Inc. and Tivoli Systems Inc., this week announced they have integrated Tivoli SANergy’s state-of-the-art high-performance SAN-NAS Fusion software with IPStor.

According to the companies, the combination of both IPStor(TM) and Tivoli SANergy enables IT managers to share, back up, restore, and manage storage worldwide, over any data transport protocols (Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SCSI or IP) they choose.

FalconStor said IPStor takes the vendor and interface agnostic approach to aggregate physical storage across the enterprise into a virtual storage pool, which can be managed by a Java-based console. Tivoli said SANergy effectively fuses together the speed and efficiency of the SAN connections with the ease of administration of the NAS.
