Imation Introduces Storage Consulting Service

Imation Corp. today introduced the Kick-Start Program, a new storage consulting offering. The Kick-Start Program is a half-day, on-site training program facilitated by Imation’s senior storage architects and engineers to help companies deal with storage issues.

According to Imation, it includes an interactive strategy session to address a company’s current IT environment, its storage and infrastructure challenges, and potential pitfalls. Imation helps participants identify the best migration plans and storage networking architectures available to manage these issues. Working with companies in storage consulting engagements and in its Storage Networking Lab, Imation says it draws from real-world experience to help new clients who face similar storage networking issues identify specific architectures they should investigate.

Priced at $3,000 a session with room for up to 10 participants, Imation’s Kick-Start session is customized to the audience, and is available in two tracks. The Executive Track is designed for chief technology officers, chief information officers or IT vice presidents. It focuses on how storage networking solves business problems, investigating the participants’ business drivers, the impact of storage architectures on the bottom line, design considerations, the major vendors in the marketplace and the key terms to better communicate and understand storage networking. The Technical Track is designed for IT directors, managers and senior IT staff. It concentrates on the more technical aspects of storage networking design, examining different storage networking applications, examples of detailed architectures, key vendors, hidden implementation issues and product differentiators.
