MTI Offers New SAN Model in Vivant Series

MTI Technology , a provider of storage and business solutions, today announced a new Vivant S Series model that it said offers a completely configured storage area network (SAN)-based storage solution with up to 8.5 terabytes of capacity in 20U of space.

According to t he company, the new Vivant S240, the next step up from the S200, extends the S Series to environments with larger capacity and performance requirements; doubles host server connectivity; enables a variety of applications servers to access multiple terabytes of centralized, high-performance storage; and incorporates a redundant components and dual data I/O paths.

MTI said standard configuration for the S240 includes two pairs of dual RAID controllers, drive bays for up to 48 disk drives, and 32 switched Fibre Channel connectivity ports. It may also be upgraded to an S270 at any time, enabling customers to scale both storage capacity (to 17 TB) and processing power as requirements change.

The new Vivant S240 storage solution is available now.
