Network Appliance Partners with Lucent

NAS vendor Network Appliance today announced it has partnered with Lucent Technologies to offer enhanced content delivery capabilities to Lucent’s Kenan(R) IP Services Software.


The two companies said they will couple Network Appliance(TM) solutions and Kenan IP Services Software to enable service providers to bill for premium content delivery services from their networks. According to the companies, the combined Network Appliance and Lucent solution will automate the process of content delivery and billing, enabling service providers to create new revenue-generating services at a low total cost of ownership.

“Network Appliance enables service providers to create advanced revenue-generating services through the efficient distribution and delivery of rich media content throughout its worldwide networks,” said Chris Liotta, senior vice president and general manager, Content Delivery Business Unit, Network Appliance. “By partnering with Lucent, we provide a powerful integrated solution for our customers to collect, process, and bill for services such as live broadcasts and video on demand.”
