Procom Technology Inc. , a developer of intelligent storage technology and worldwide provider of networked storage solutions, and Syncsort, manufacturer of backup and data warehousing software for mainframe, UNIX and Windows environments, this week announced that Procom’s NetFORCE(TM) product line has been certified for Syncsort’s Backup Express software.
The certification provides customers with a fully tested and supported end-to-end solution for backup and recovery solutions using the standard Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP). Backup Express supports UNIX, Linux and Windows NT/2000/9x, as well as NDMP protocol for network attached storage (NAS) appliances.
With the NetFORCE-Backup Express NDMP solution, data is sent from disk storage to a locally attached tape library rather than moving data across the network. It also supports multiple-tape drive libraries, addressing both the capacity and speed requirements of users for backup and recovery functions.
