QLogic Corp., a provider of storage controller chips, host bus adapters, network switches and management software, today announced that Skip Jones, director of planning and technology for QLogic, has been elected to the review board of directors for the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) Supported Solutions Forum (SSF). The review board determines what storage area network (SAN) configurations are SSF-approved.
“The SNIA has been a vital force in educating the IT community on storage networking trends and issues,” said Jones. “The SSF takes that mission to the next level by providing proven multi-vendor SAN recipes that system administrators can implement and support with confidence. I appreciate the opportunity to help play a role in simplifying SANs for end users through the SSF.”
With more than 33 members, the SSF said it has positioned itself to accelerate customer implementations of storage networking solutions by addressing the two most urgent customer requirements, cooperative support and tested interoperable configurations.
