Quantum Demos Storage Solutions at Educational Conference

Quantum Corp. today announced it is demonstrating its Snap Server(R) product line at the National School Boards Association Technology + Learning Conference (NSBA).

According to International Data Corporation (IDC), educators invested more than $1 billion in storage in 2000, and the company predicts that schools’ storage needs will increase at a compound annual growth rate of 11.5 percent from 2000-2004. While the demands for storage continue to increase, school administrators need to effectively mange their burgeoning storage demands under tighter budget constraints.

“As students generate large files such as multimedia presentations and graphics, and schools are asked to offer more online or distance learning options, IT budgets just cannot keep pace,” said Ray Robidoux, senior vice president and general manager of Quantum’s Network Attached Storage Division. “The Snap Server product line provides educators with a storage solution that provides gigabytes of secure network storage at a very compelling price point.”

The NSBA conference will be held in Atlanta, Ga. from Nov. 8-10, 2001.
