Quantum Corporation today announced the formation of its Storage Solutions Group, comprised of its tape automation and network attached storage (NAS) businesses. In addition, Larry Orecklin was named president of the Storage Solutions Group, reporting directly to Michael Brown, chairman and CEO of Quantum.
In his new position, Orecklin will lead two business divisions under the Storage Solutions Group: the Network Attached Storage Division (formerly Snap Appliances), and the Data Protection Division (formerly Quantum|ATL). He most served as senior vice president of IBM’s Tivoli Systems’ Service Provider and Telecommunications business.
“Quantum is well-positioned to play a larger role in storage solutions,” said Orecklin. “I look forward to continuing to broaden our portfolio of hardware, integrated software, and services to deliver, along with our partners, comprehensive storage solutions that meet customers’ needs for scalability, manageability and price/performance.”
