Storage Access and Switch and Data Form Alliance

Storage Access Technologies Inc. Switch and Data, acarrier-neutral colocation provider, today announced an agreement to offer managed storage solutions throughout Switch and Data’s nationwide footprint. The strategic alliance calls for immediate offering of Storage Access’ hosted storage products in key metro markets throughout the U.S.

According to the companies, this agreement enables the delivery of one of the highest growth IT products – outsourced managed storage – to Switch and Data’s transmission-based network service provider customers. By expanding the reach of Storage Access throughout Switch and Data’s footprint, the alliance enables immediate availability of advanced network storage at key fiber-optic interconnection points in major metro markets.

“This agreement with Switch and Data accelerates our ability to market to both end users and providers in key metro areas throughout the United States,” stated Jonathan Castleman, president of Storage Access. “Switch and Data is well established in each of the major cities that are critical to our initial roll out of services. Their locations are known as some of the `most connected’ facilities in the U.S., specifically designed to allow service providers’ equipment to interconnect with regional, national and global fiber-optic networks. Their prime locations and solid customer list significantly extends our presence in crucial markets.”

Switch and Data provides carrier-class facilities including technical support and value-added services to service providers who require access to local, regional and global fiber-optic networks. With this agreement, Switch and Data will now offer Storage Access’ suite of data management services and will manage the high-speed connections between numerous fiber-optic networks and Storage Access.
