SwapDrive, a provider of Web- based data storage, has added three solution providers to its XSP@SwapDrive Partner Program: PROMENET Inc., headquartered in New York City; Shea Network Solutions of Ridgewood, NJ; and Inet OnLine Services based in the Chicago Metropolitan area. The agreements call for each provider to resell SwapDrive Backup, online data backup and recovery, to their corporate clients.
PROMENET, Inc., a full service ISP, plans to add SwapDrive Backup to its existing Netsourcing “one-stop shopping” service, which includes Internet, integration, and interactive services. Shea Network Solutions (SNS), providing networking solutions and services to the New York area, plans to include SwapDrive Backup with the company’s current offering of network hardware, wiring, and professional services. Inet OnLine Services (IOLS), a national provider of Internet services and solutions, plans to offer SwapDrive Backup within its business and individual packages.

According to PROMENET President John Papaioannou, 80% of PROMENET’s customers are operating in Mobile environments. “Important company data is stored on laptops and other mobile computing devices,” said Papaioannou. “Utilizing SwapDrive Backup ensures that the mobile users’ data is backed up and can be easily retrieved. As a premier Veritas partner, we see SwapDrive as a complement to our current mix of backup solutions. This solution will allow for diversification of the backup / restore process.”
Inet OnLine Services said it selected SwapDrive Backup based on the ease of use and reliability of the service and support team. “We not only evaluate vendors based on their product and services but more importantly on their willingness and ability to develop and maintain a relationship with us,” said Marty Albert, President of IOLS. “The SwapDrive software interface is straightforward and the flexible backup schedule is ideal to meeting our customers needs.”
