TeraCloud Launches Storage Resource Managment Software

Dec 17, 2001

TeraCloud Corporation announced today the launch of SpaceNet, a unified enterprise storage resource management (SRM) software platform for organizations with mainframe and open system servers.

According to TeraCloud, from a central console, SpaceNet allows administrators to view and manage storage hardware and data throughout the organization, maximizing space utilization, increasing overall IT performance and assisting with provisioning. SpaceNet delivers file-level detail, enabling companies to manage, control and protect strategic information assets, while enabling lost or misplaced data to be easily located.

“Faced with spiraling data growth, Fortune 1000 companies know the cost of managing that information is skyrocketing,” says Douglass Ebstyne, CEO of TeraCloud. “Companies must get a handle on these costs, to say nothing of the need for a reliable system to manage the growth of important information. It is no longer acceptable to buy additional hardware to solve the storage dilemma. While meeting internal service level agreements, SpaceNet delivers immediate and dramatic cost savings, along with the tools to obtain the most value from current infrastructure.”

SpaceNet is available from TeraCloud Corporation at $50,000 per terabyte.
