Veritas Expands Partner Program, Creates Certification Program

Veritas Software Corporation today announced the Veritas Certified Professional Program (VCPP), a worldwide certification program for product and solution providers who deliver Veritas Software storage management solutions. The company also unveiled enhancements to its Veritas Partner Program.

According to the company, the expanded worldwide partner program provides Veritas Software partners with benefits in the areas of technical and online support, certification, as well as increased financial opportunities. VCPP on the other hand is a certification program that Veritas said will ensure that Veritas information technology professionals possess consistent, technical problem solving skills, enabling them to provide superior service to companies using Veritas Software solutions.

Two solution certification tracks are available during the first phase of the VCPP program. The tracks involve design and configuration exams based upon real world scenarios in the following areas: Veritas Data Protection and Veritas High Availability.

The company said exams are administered at professional testing centers located around the world. Candidates are required to pass a specific number of exams within a track to achieve a Veritas Certified Professional designation. Future phases of the program will offer Storage Management and Disaster Recovery exams based on broader Veritas Software solutions.

Veritas said the Veritas Partner Program provides the following key benefits: A high quality, consistent program that supports Veritas Software partners virtually anywhere in the world; Sales tools, training, and authorization across heterogeneous platforms for maximum customer satisfaction; The opportunity to be officially recognized through the Veritas Certified Professional Program as a highly regarded industry expert in the area of VERITAS Software storage management software products; and a dedicated, secure partner Web site, the Veritas Partner Network, available late February.
