Alliente Inc., a Business Service Provider (BSP) managing indirect e-procurement solutions for global customers, announced Wednesday (Dec 6) the finalization of a Hosting Alliance Agreement with e-commerce platform and network services provider Ariba to deliver the tools and expertise for building complete e-procurement systems.

Under the agreement, Alliente will have direct access to Ariba technology to allow Alliente to perform outsourcing and implementation services for its clients. Ariba in return can leverage Alliente’s indirect procurement experience to offer automated procurement solutions to its customers.

“This relationship supports Alliente’s distinctive business model and leverages the significant value of the company’s e-procurement knowledge,” said Dan Fishback, Ariba’s VP of global channels. “This agreement allows Ariba to have a hosting relationship that provides total e-procurement business solutions to complement our product and service offerings to current and potential customers.”

Alliente’s enterprise services include implementation, consulting, catalog order management, non-catalog procurement, supplier management and e-enablement and payment services. Providing these services as an outsourced partner, Alliente adds value to customers using the Ariba platform. Alliente has already had tremendous success implementing its e-procurement solution and managing Ariba Buyer with two of its global customers, Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies. Alliente also recently announced a customer agreement with Lucent Technologies and is currently implementing an e-procurement solution for its global operations.

“We know that companies are looking for not only the best available technology and a world-class B2B platform, but also a partner that can help streamline and implement indirect procurement processes to positively affect the bottom line. Together, Ariba and Alliente are the solution,” said Greg Spray, Alliente’s president and CEO.
