Corio Inc. , a San Carlos, CA-based enterprise application service provider (ASP) and PeopleSoft ASP Outsourcing Provider, yesterday announced National Gypsum Company, a Charlotte, NC-based manufacturer and supplier of building and construction products as its new customer.

Corio will both implement and manage its PeopleSoft Financials, Human Resources, and Payroll solution for National Gypsum which had sought an upgrade from PeopleSoft 7.5 to release 8 due to an increase need for the implementation, ongoing application management, and reduced costs.

Using the Corio FastLane methodology for PeopleSoft solutions, Corio will expedite the project timeline for the migration to Corio’s ASP model of National Gypsum’s current deployments of Financials, Human Resources and Payroll, and for the upgrade of Human Resources and Payroll from version 7.5 to 8. Corio will be responsible for the applications management and maintenance of the PeopleSoft.

“Corio’s implementation methodology will expedite the rollout of our new system and their application management resources will alleviate our need to hire the PeopleSoft skills in-house, reducing our total cost of ownership by 25%,” says Bill Parmelee, chief financial officer of National Gypsum.

Says George Kadifa, president and CEO of Corio: “We enable brick and mortar companies like National Gypsum to unlock IT value through reliable applications management services and improved project economics.”
