Global ASPInterliant Inc. (Nasdaq:INIT) today (Jan 2) announced the addition of an integrated, browser-based e-Commerce development and hosting application from Miva Corporation to its dedicated server solution lineup.

The Miva Commerce Server solution allows businesses to develop and manage online storefronts via a standard Internet browser. Through its relationship with and ongoing purchase of products from Miva Corporation, a leading provider of e-Commerce software to small and medium-sized businesses, Interliant Web Hosting will offer its customers scalable, hosted access to the Miva solution on its lineup of Cobalt server appliances from Sun Microsystems.

“Interliant is committed to offering a full spectrum of hosted e-Commerce solutions to small and mid-sized businesses that do not have the IT resources to maintain and manage the mission-critical applications and infrastructure needed to establish and maintain a successful online business,” said Jon Naphin, VP web hosting, Interliant. “With Miva Commerce Server, we’re able to provide e-businesses with a complete, cost-effective solution that enables them to create an e-presence with no e-headaches.”

The Miva Commerce Server offering is a bundled solution that will allow Interliant customers to construct a web store quickly and easily. Users also can customize their e-Commerce environment. The package combines Miva Empresa, Miva Merchant, and an integrated installer for quick and easy setup. Miva Merchant enables users to easily develop and manage robust online storefronts using only standard Internet browser software. Customization of the storefronts is enabled via Miva Empresa.

By offering Miva on low-cost, reliable and easy-to-use Sun Cobalt server appliances, Interliant will expand its target market to include single-site-per-server customers. This same combination also enables web developers to host multiple e-commerce enabled websites.

“Our partnership with Interliant will provide us with access to Interliant’s broad customer base and extend our market penetration with Miva Commerce Server,” said Joe Austin, president and CEO of Miva Corporation. “Miva’s e-Commerce solution, combined with Interliant’s premier solution hosting capabilities and value pricing, gives e-merchants the cost-effective, easy-to-use, all-in-one solution that they need.”

Interliant Inc. is a global ASP and pioneer in the ASP market. Interliant’s INIT Solutions Suite includes messaging and knowledge management, security, e-commerce, customer relationship management, enterprise resource planning, distributed learning, website hosting and web-based rental applications.
